Abstract

When the smart cruise system is mounted on a vehicle, front member should not to disturb a radar transmission state of the SCC system. In general, radiator grill is plated with a metal to provide for an aesthetic and luxurious appearance. However, such the metal parts may disrupt uniform radio wave of transmission apparatus of the radar. Accordingly, to achieve consistent radio wave communication, a separate cover is provided at a radiator grill. Currently, most vehicles are now mounted with an indium deposition SCC cover. However, SCC system cost has been increased because indium is expensive and rare material. And thus, economical technology development should be carried out. In this study, we had developed the multilayer optical coating and manufacturing process as indium alternative. This study is core technology to provide the expanded function of prevented safety and convenience. Through this research, we can reduce the cost more than 60% and secured the equivalent performance with competing technologies.
