Abstract
Change management is fundamental to engineering design. This occurs at various stages in product development process. When changes occur early in the development process, they trigger specific impact on the product development activity. This paper intent to explore how the change affecting one element of a system can result in changes to the other elements in the system. Subsequently how this impact is carried through the complete product development activity. Intent here is to present a decision making support method for assessing the effects of engineering change on the product development. This study will use number of previously developed change propagation analysis methods such as change design structure matrices (DSM) and the change propagation method (CPM).
