Abstract
ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this study is the analysis of the thermo-mechanical behavior of the brake disc and pads during the braking phase. The modeling of transient temperature of the brake disc is used to optimize its geometric design, thermally excited vibrations and thermal elastic instability. The thermal-structural analysis is then used coupling to determine the deformation established and the von Mises stresses in the disc, the contact pressure distribution in pads. The results obtained using the computing code ANSYS are satisfactory compared to those found in the recent specialized literature.
KEY WORDS - brake discs, brake pads, heat flux, heat transfer coefficient, von Mises stress, contact pressure.
