The paper presents a simple dynamic model for an electric vehicle. The model is based on the movement equations of the vehicle, of the electric drive and transmission. It is implemented in the well known Mathlab-Simulink simulation tool. This model is a simple and low cost tool, which can be used in the first design stages of a light electric vehicle. Future improvements will be added for a more complex vehicle analysis. The model has also didactic purposes. The model was first validated based on some light electric vehicles on the market. Then it was used to study the behavior of the electric vehicle in different conditions. The paper presents few examples this analysis.
