Abstract

Up to recently worldwide significant efforts have been made to establish a vehicle safety regulation, which is internationally agreed, in order to reduce pedestrian casualties in pedestrian-vehicle collisions. Currently, researches have been conducted to establish the Global Technical Regulation(GTR) in which Korea also takes part. And pedestrian safety evaluation can be classified into 5 GTR types. This paper presents development of GTR performance with effective energy absorber and lower stiffener. This paper describes performance improvement of lower legform, one of GTR methods. In this paper, it conducted collision analysis of base model and secured reliability of the analysis through correlation with test results. By using the verified collision analysis model, impact degree of energy absorber and lower stiffener‟s design factors was analyzed, and then collision of lower legform has been improved.
