Abstract

While V-cycle model development is widely used in automotive control systems, the development of traditional controllers for fatigue test benches is normally based on trial-error method. In this paper, we present the development of the control system for a test bench for reproducing real road vibration data on non-linear specimens, using V-cycle development model. The five steps of V-cycle; Function design, Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP), Production code implementation, Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and Calibration have been realized by using Matlab/Simulink/StateFlow, dSpace Control Desk and LabVIEW RT. The HIL application results in an important reduction of both failure risks and the calibration time in the customer facilities.
