Abstract

This paper presents the comparison of the emission of gaseous pollutants - CO, HC, NOx , CO 2 and particulate exhaust emissions from different types of vehicles with spark-ignition (SI) and compression-ignition (CI) engines, different fuelling systems (multi-point fuel injection, direct injection) and different fuel used (gasoline, LPG, CNG, diesel), under laboratory conditions. The methods used for emission measurement included full flow dilution tunnel for LDD engines and the variable flow exhaust sampling system ('quadro

Venturi' CVS), and particulate sampling system has been described. The results of emissions in the NEDC cycle performed on several European manufactured vehicles according to Euro III/ Euro IV requirements for passenger cars (PC) and light commercial vehicles (LCV) on the chassis dynamometer in Exhaust Emission Testing Laboratory of BOSMAL Automotive R&D Centre have been presented.
