Tyre Modelling for Misuse Situations

Abstract

This article will describe the current state of the art in tyre/suspension system misuse simulation, with particular attention to finite element tyre modeling for severe impact situations. A tyre model for such simulation studies will be described and it's performance discussed with respect to experimental obtained data. The merits of this approach to misuse simulation will be discussed and outlines given for future development in this area.
