Abstract

People spend 90% of their time inside indoor areas included inside micro environment such as vehicle interior cabin. Although passengers cars mainly judge healthy the cabin air quality, this one is subjected to increasing number of studies by automotive companies, often associated to research laboratories.

Equipment rate for air treatment solutions in-vehicles increases regularly, comparatively to the public sensitivity against atmospheric pollution and its influence on the health. Targets to be eliminated are particles, aerosols and pollutants gases that we breath and which are controlled by air measurement networks.

Particles filters, activated carbon filters, automatic recycling with pollution sensors, extend on all vehicles ranges and belong to new equipment proposed to consumers. The arguments such as environment, clean atmosphere and vigilance are always invoked.

Valeo has decided to continue further existing solutions, by developing new technologies for air quality, such as photocatalyst and odorisation.
