Abstract
The work shows the development and the results of an articulated multibody biomechanical 50% human model for crash test simulations. The model includes a detailed representation of the shoulder complex with added stabilizing passive muscle bar finite elements. A 5% female human model is outlined. The models are validated against standard cadaver sled tests. A first modelling approach of the inner organs is presented. The whole work is carried out in tied cooperation with ESI Group International, S.A. branch in Paris.
