Abstract

In the paper we introduce a global-local principles of the modeling of the complex problem using the FEM (Finite Element Method) techniques. The rolling element characteristics are obtained in the local models, in which the detail analysis of the local contact pressure distribution is investigated. Then the equivalent global model for the line contact is computed and included into the global model of the investigated structure with corresponding rolling bearings. A special transmission local-to-global-element was developed to model different contact stiffness with each raceway and to account the load distribution along the contact zone. The proposed model increases the efficiency of the modeling the modern rolling bearings. The accuracy of the analysis and the design of the bearing structure parameters with the aim to increase the bearing life and/or its bearing capacity is discussed, too.
