Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze possibilities of numerical simulation of the steady flow tests. The goal is to calibrate a calculation method to obtain the same results as experimental ones. The model has been created on the base of steady flow test, usually employed in order to determine flow discharge coefficient, swirl and tumble ratio. To perform the numerical solution of 3D steady incompressible flow considering turbulence the FLUENT code has been employed using CAD data (cylinder head geometry). Integral parameters were evaluated and compared with experimental results. Because of the dependence of the simulation results on the grid coarseness and the turbulence model, the numerical methods have to be used with a certain precaution.
