The laser brazing technology is already applied in the steel industry, but the elaboration of laser brazing technology used for Al-joints is not completed until now, because the brazing is more complicated with aluminium, due to the presence compact surface oxide layer on the surface of aluminium and the absorption of laser energy is too low (2-6%). In this paper the optimisation of laser brazing technology and the characteristics of optimised joints (thickness 1,2 mm) are demonstrated. The aim of optimisation was the realisation of continuous bonding together the minimisation of heat input. In addition, the perspective of various filler materials (filler wire, brazing paste) and affect of the laser spot division between the filler wire and the base material too. In the course of the investigation the properties of surface, structure and strength of flanged joints were determined.
