Abstract

Keywords: Virtual Instrument, handling and stability, Vehicle Test,

The handling and stability performance became more and more important with the increase of vehicle speed. In order to obtain the exact roundly performance, the handing and stability test must be executed, which includes open-loop test and closed-loop test. As for closed-loop (driver-vehicle-road) test, it usually consists of single-lane change test, double-lane change test and pylon course slalom test etc. the test is usually carried out on the special proving ground, which is usually far away from the institute or automobile factory. In the past, the test signals are usually stored on a recorder, which have to be analyzed through the special signal processor later, so the test results can not be checked in the field and directly stored on a computer. The most important thing, we can not know whether the test is successful or not immediately after the test. Because the preparation of test need much time and money, how to improve the test success rate is important. Using virtual instrument technology, the test signals can be observed during the test process, the data can be directly saved in a computer, and the test data curve can be drawn immediately. So we can analyze the test results after each test. This improves the test efficiency and reduces the test failure. Using virtual instrument technology, the author designed and developed the vehicle handling and stability test system, which was introduced as below.
