Abstract

The physical coupling of transmission wheel and metal belt give possibility to torque transmitting. Its value is influent of construction of CVT components and also of control of work parameters as thrust force. The control of thrust force has influence of frictional conditions between belt and wheels. The friction coefficient and slip angle/relative slip angle describe his frictional conditions (1) (3) (7). Estimation of direct measuring of this parameters are very difficult in CVT powertrain. The presented new advanced method to estimate frictional conditions based on own mathematical model of CVT. This method based at observed of value of thrust force ratio and transmission ratio. The necessarily hydraulic control unit modification are also presented. The possibilities to applying of frictional conditions estimation in the control of CVT and experimental results are in this paper described.
