ABSTRACT

In the paper are presented the most important factors which modify the thermal comfort and the available technical solutions. The modern systems ensure the heating, the ventilation and the conditioning of the air from the vehicles’ cab. There are presented the unique constructive and functional features for the most common types of air-conditioning systems. The air-conditioning control in modern systems is an electronic one, computer assisted. An advanced system is “Climatronic”, which permits automatic control of the wanted vehicles’ cabin temperature, using information measured by the sensors. The information are adapted by the electronic control unit (ECU), which controls by electric signals the air heating, cooling and conduct devices. The comfort we now take for granted had very cold beginnings, but the technology in this area of the vehicle electrical system is still evolving.
