ABSTRACT
The paper presents a classification of the elements of the vehicle mechanisms in accordance with some criteria specific to the analysis of the values; then, a method of selecting the safety coefficients is used, which combines the probabilistic calculus, the life cycle and the reduction of the actual stress to equivalent periodic stress; a highest degree of profitableness is followed under conditions of safety assurance. Further on, the paper focusses on the method of choosing the safety coefficient which applies the normative paradigm of the decission theory under risk conditions.
