ABSTRACT

Few branches of the automotive industry enjoy at present such growth rates as the leisure vehicle industry. In the category of leisure vehicles we can include snowmobiles (ski-doos), ATVs, buggies, trikes and waverunners. Each of these vehicles has the disadvantage of the limited usability due to the weather conditions (winter, summer) or the travel surface (water, road, snow). The objective of the project is to design and construct for the first time a vehicle that can travel, with a minimum modification effort, on roads, snow and water. The main advantage of the vehicle is the more intense usability over the year in comparison with the other leisure vehicles. The base vehicle, on which the whole concept is based, is a trike. One of the goals of the design team was to maintain the trike-like driving sensation also for the snow and water variants. Of paramount importance for the leisure vehicles is the driving pleasure that it offers. This goal has by all means been achieved. The paper presents the solutions chosen for the construction of the vehicle and the justification for their choosing, as well as the conclusions drawn after the first series of tests.
