ABSTRACT:
The present paper treats the Bourdon tube as a thin-walled hollow shaft with a fixed support at one and and a free end. The studied tubes are bent in an arc of circle shape, having an elliptical or a plane-oval cross section. The thickness of the wall is small comparatively to the radius of curvature, that is the reason why the deformation of the cross section is negligible; constructively, the Boordon tube is a structure being formed of two cylindrical shells which work together. In order to determine the free end deflection, under the inner pressure of the tube, one use the Mohr-Maxwell method, geometrical method, FEM and also with help of strain gages.
