ABSTRACT:

In this paper there are presented some preliminary researches concerning the possibilities of reducing of an existing engine smoke degree acting only to technical preparations of the inlet air, respectively on temperature and pressure.

Theoretical, it is known that changes on the cylinders inlet air pressure and temperature influence the pressure and the temperature level in the engine cylinder.

As a result, these will influence the fuel spraying, both by burning chamber counter-pressure and by gaseous medium viscosity in which the fuel jet is developed. These phenomena will influence both spaying finesse and especially the jet penetration, dispersion angle and the jets extent degree.

These effects on the injection in association with the cylinder filling degree modifications will influence in positive or negative way the fuel burning with consequences on the smoke degree and engine energetic performances, which will be experimentally emphasized.

There was proved an important influence of the aspired air pressure and temperature on the engine smoke degree at different working regimes (speed and load).
