Abstract

ABSTRACT:

The sustainable development of transport sector, mainly road transport, need to met new challenge for automotive designers and researchers. To find new solution exist two main ways, one refers to new technologies applied to improve engine fuel consumption, energetic parameters and to diminish level of emissions, and another refers to use new fuels.

To use vegetable oil there are three possible solutions:

• To modify the engine;

• To modify the oil;

• To use Diesel fuel blended with raw vegetable oil.

The paper presents the results regarding the energetic parameters and chemical emissions using Diesel fuel blended with 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% raw rapeseed oil.

It is also analyzed air fuel mixing formation and the influence of vegetable oil on combustion phases.

The paper contains table and representative charts.
