ABSTRACT:

This paper present study regarding fuel substances introduced in the air, which pass through the inlet ducts of cylinder heads. The purposes are different.

For instance, easy starting of the engine at low temperatures.

The problem of transporting the fuel - in vapor state - injected into the inlet ducts implies a series of processes of great complexity.

The experimental checking are low temperatures (i.e. -200C), on a diesel single cylinder and the fuel injected into the inlet ducts has the quality of the ether.

With the aid of a two phases (gas - liquid) 2D and 3D, the events suffered by the fuel are studied: the formation of the jet, the drop motion, the vaporization of the fuel drop, the fuel film formation, the motion of the fuel film and its vaporization, the air motion and vapor mass.

Regarding the finite element method, the AVL'S FIRE software was used.
