ABSTRACT:

Taking into consideration stability's importance on the rolling safety, we can consider that stability is one of the most important quality of the automobile. This quality is ensured through the multiple constructive measures, talking into account the influence of numerous factors, which appear during rolling process.

This paper deals with the influence of road-tyre contact surface variable longitudinal forces, which are hard to be expressed, upon the automobile stability. The way they influence the stability either by losing the adherence, or by opening or closing trend of the steering wheels due to the induced steering are taken into account.

An analysis is performed on the romanian automotives. The torques which influence the stability of the steering wheels is analyzed. Also, a comparison is made in order to set the influence of the deport (wether it is positive or negative) on those torques.

The paper is part of a wide greater research tyre-road contact, which takes into consideration the stability angles of the steering wheels.

Thus, the paper goal is to find the effect of the longitudinal forces and their torques on the vehicle stable behaviour.
