Abstract
The actual technologies in terms of driver assistance and the future technologies of autonomous driving, brings forward the need of mechatronic chassis systems. In the 1990s Schaeffler began development of mechanical actuators (ball screw drive, small planetary gear, cylindrical gear units and the bearing support for the entire module) for electromechanical brakes. Nowadays the Electromechanically Active Roll Stabilizer already defined his presence on the market. Within this paper are presented Schaefflers unique solutions for all this challenges in the area of vehicle roll stabilization, ride height adjustment, steering, damping and wheel bearings.
