Abstract
The paper presents the experimental and technical steps for diagnosis and optical investigation of the unit injection pumps elements for light and heavy diesel trucks, in order to establish the causes of malfunctioning and decision of replacing and/or repairing them. There will be presented some of the most usual damages and technical explanations and interpretation of the diagnosis tests.
