Modelling the Car Wheels Guiding Mechanisms Using the Multibody System Method

Abstract

Modern design of complex products according to the market requests imposes interdisciplinary working teams and unitary software tools. As result, unitary modeling of the subsystems in a product becomes a must, valid also for mechanical systems. A solution is represented by the Multibody Systems Method. The paper presents a new method for the analysis/conception of spatial linkages of the car wheels. The method is applied for linkages having rotational and spherical joints. Fundamental chains and associated mechanisms for two or three bodies are detailed.
