Abstract
The progress of traffic operations in the EU and the increasing competition in particular kinds of traffic brings new situation. Both the individual states and their governments have to consider the issues of optimal management with respect to maximum economy of operation costs and a sustainable environment. The different quality of the vehicles calls for renovation, reconstruction, economy, safety, exhalation and noise solution. In the Diagram 1 the structure of the life cycle cost (LCC) from the user’s point of view is introduced. The goal of the analysis of the LCC is to evaluate and/or to optimize those costs with respect to the specified demands on the efficiency, safety, reliability, maintainability and other properties. The constant pressure on the financial effects and mechanisms creates the need to analyze the whole life cycle. This happens step by step in a logical sequence. This approach is able to reveal and to yield synergic effects. The situation in the Czech Republic is characterized by the intensive renewal and purchase of the commercial vehicles. Efforts are being made to formalize this process into financial models. The process of the renewal of the vehicles happens by complying with all kinds of costs and financial losses arising in their life cycle. The technologically and economically convenient solutions should be seen both for the manufacturer and the operator as well as in society (e.g. the implementation of new transportation systems including combined, and the perfection of the existing ones).
