Abstract

This paper assesses three size variants for the structure of the rear axle suspension support. With each variant, on the basis of a calculation of the chassis roll stiffness, a comparison was made on how the body tilted when entering a bend and on the forces that are applied during this maneuver. The individual variants are also assessed from the viewpoint of the effect of the change in mass of the support on the change in the frequency of the sprung and unsprung masses. The results achieved indicate the right way towards reducing body tilt by increasing the transverse spring track widths.
