Abstract:
BPW is a specialist producer and developer of suspension and brake systems for trailers and is, in this field, the European market leader. This position has been achieved by the BPW philosophy of continuous development.
This presentation will explain the suspension technology of trailers including the latest:
- Bearing technology
- Elastic mounted trailing arm suspension for optimised ride comfort and minimised tyre wear
- And the BPW philosophy: maintenance must be simple and parts must be easy to replace.
Also in the area of brake technology:
- a comparison of drum and disc brake safety behaviour under the influence of current electronic brake systems will be offered.
The presentation will conclude by demonstrating the differences in total cost of ownership including the cost effects which are driven by the technology of the suspension and brake system and finally the clear-cut BPW philosophy: maintenance must be simple and parts must be easy to replace.
