Abstract
The aim of the present paper is to study the stability of the vehicle on the road. Under the simplifying assumptions of a dynamic system, we have developed a mathematical model used in vehicle dynamics, seen as a finite system of material points attached to geometric and kinematic bounds. The qualitative results of the Lyapunov stability property obtained for the proposed dynamical system are compared with the actual data obtained in a program of tests for a mid class car. The correspondence between the theoretical and the actual data proved to be satisfactory within the simplifying assumptions adopted, so that the theoretical model adopted can be used in the research of numerical simulation for the vehicle stability.
