Abstract
This paper presents a frequency analysis performed for a front axle’s arm, made of iron plate. The calculation was done using the finite element method and the experimental study used the technique of analysis with the accelerometers, for determining the characteristic frequencies by spectral analysis of the transfer function between the excitation signal generated by an impact hammer and the acceleration signal measured at different points on the arm. The analyses were performed both on the single arm and on the assembled arm. The dynamic analysis performed led to the conclusion that the studied part has an appropriate dynamic behaviour and is in accordance with the specifications. The numerical dynamic analysis is an important step in evaluating the dynamic behaviour of the axles and their parts.
