Abstract

This work presents experimental study on the cutting process for polyamide PA66 – GF30 (reinforced with 30% glass fiber). The experiment was carried out on extruded workpiece using a metal plate lathe knife SCMT 12 04 04, from Sandvik Coromant. The objective of this study is to evaluate the influence of the cutting parameters on the cutting force, Fy, Fx, friction angle, ρ, shear angle, θ, chip compression ratio, Rc, chip deformation, ε, the shear and normal stresses, τ and σ.

Keywords: Turning, Friction Angle, Shear Angle, Chip Compression Ratio, Chip Deformation, Shear Stress, Normal Stress
