Abstract
The paper describes the main concepts behind integration of safety and comfort advanced driver support functions developed in the Nea Concept Car that has been presented at the Intelligent Vehicle Showcase of the World Conference on Intelligent Transport Systems in Torino, November 2000. The main idea behind the development of this Concept car is to understand how advanced driver assistance functions coming in the next years can be integrated in an overall concept in order to help the driver in a friendly and continuous way.
The paper described this overall concept, called Trip Mate, with reference to the developed functions, their integration and implementation into prototype vehicles. An overview of the introduction of these concept on future car is also given.
