Abstract
In this paper the phases of a new methodology for a surface defects analysis by image processing are shown. In particular an applicative case concerning the surface defects detection of ball bearings is considered. We present very promising results on detecting surface abnormalities in the image textures structural properties of products under testing, by means of a technique based on the Wigner transform.
