Abstract

In order to research stability of new products during process of design and manufacture, various methods can be used, yet each of these has its own advantages and disadvantages. This article presents the method for determining wear of friction members in the gearbox of light trucks designed and made in Vietnam, this is the product of the priority project at State level, coded as KC.05.DA.02/06-10, with the application of non-opening diagnosis technology, from that to access gearbox stability. Gearbox after researched designed manufactured and mounted on experimental truck shall be sufficiently filled lubricant as regulated, following up shall be carried out of the truck and is gearbox operation; the vehicle is always running on the road with a 100% load, at speed by engaging proper gears, checking the mileage via meter for oil sampling (test sample) under a prescribed outline. After obtaining test samples, carry out analysis to qualitatively and quantitatively determine abrasive grains available in the samples with an equipment system of Vietnam Industrial Chemistry Institute with prompt and high accuracy. Use such software as Excel for calculations, matlab for building diagrams and treating abrasive grain results to assess wear of friction members in the gearbox. As a result, the experiment bring about tables and diagrams for the identification, inference wear of friction members in the gearbox according to the mileages done on the road, from that we can determine the stability of the gearbox according to the mileages done on the road.
