Abstract

To do research into strength and stability (service life) of new machinery assemblies during the course of designing, manufacturing, different methods have been used. This article presents methods of determining wear speed of friction members in the gearbox of light trucks designed and made in Vietnam from that to assess service life of the gearbox. Gearbox operates on a testing stand in the laboratory with a load causing device and an up-to-date and very exact MP-100S equipment when in use. Modes of load and speed at gears of the gearbox are calculated correlatively to the truck which is running stably on the horizontal road, without allowing for effect of wind velocity on the truck. Application of advanced technology with the method for non-opening diagnosis in order to determine wear speed of friction members in the gearbox; use of the up-to-date equipment system by Vietnam Industrial Chemistry Institute to analyze test samples; carrying out qualitative and quantitative analyses of abrasive grains in the gearbox lubricant samples with high acryl. Use of software such as excel and matlab to assess wear speed of friction members in the gearbox and treat abrasive grain results. As a resettle, the tables and diagrams obtained shall serve identification, inference of wear speed of friction members in the gearbox according to time, load and speed.
