Abstract
Glass is material that uses to make important components of motor vehicle. The motor vehicle always works in vibration condition, so that the glass used for the vehicle should be safety glass. When the glass on vehicle is broken, its pieces may hurt the people who move nearby and driver, so that, the quality of the safety glass is so important. Currently, most imported and domestic assembled motor vehicles have used safety glasses and safety glazing material. However, the inspecting and testing of safety glass on motor vehicle is under stage of preparation. This report mentions to the research on applying the national standard TCVN 6758: 2000 (UNECE43) on inspecting and testing safety glasses used for motor vehicle and proposes a road map to apply this standard. Studying the requirement of the safety glass and safety glazing material used for motor vehicle and relevant international regulations (UNECE 43, ISO 3537, ISO 3538 , Japan Re. Article 29, USAFMSS 205), the researchers chose some typical samples of safety glasses that installed on vehicle and implement the testing follow TCVN 6758 : 2000 (UNECE 43) using the special testing equipments. Base on the assessment of testing results, reference regulations and consideration of the real condition in Vietnam; the researchers propose the road map to apply TCVN 6758: 2000 (UNECE43).
