Abstract

This paper presents the characteristics of dynamic response of specifically articulated buses that have increasingly important roles in the public traffic system of urban areas and to connect those areas with their neighboring cities. They can help improve the passenger loading capacity at the same time and enhance the effectiveness of regulating the public transportation system. The research process concentrates on stability states of the dynamic control and stabilizing of the vehicle when it moves on the road. This is a very important problem to use the articulated bus in real conditional in some big cities of Vietnam and Czech. The research methodology is to analyze the responses of the articulated bus to control inputs at the steering wheel, brake and accelerator process; to establish mechanical equations to simulate the dynamic and stability states of the vehicle. The objective of the research is to find out solutions for decreasing mechanic errors and optimizing the control of the vehicle. The research also examines the applications of information technology (IT) and electrical control system for the damping of the vehicle during its operation and the improvement of the vehicle's stability. Finally, the paper will consider the probability of applying the research results to similar-structure-vehicles.
