Abstract
Abstract: During some previous studies, the tram was identified by the inhabitants of Cluj-Napoca city as a very annoying noise source. Complaints focused on day interference with working activities and also on disturbing of rest and night sleep. The paper intent is to describe the acoustic environment generated by the urban traffic and influenced by the presence of the tram noise in Cluj-Napoca. Noise data, obtained by measurement along the tram route, are examined in order to evaluate the current situation and to assess the potentially negative effects on human health. The study was conducted in the context of urban noise mapping.
