Abstract
Abstract: As a result of the worldwide target to reduce the CO2 emissions and because of the wish to reduce the dependency on fossil fuels, bio fuels are increasingly used. For example their share on the fuel market should grow to 5.75% within the EU by 2010. Not only fuel supply systems on the vehicles have to be designed in a proper way but also the fuel consumption measurement systems used on the engine test must specifically be developed for the use with bio fuels like bio ethanol- respectively bio diesel mixtures up to 100%. This paper will explain and discuss AVL´s approach to a solution for the application of measuring liquid bio fuels.
