Abstract
Abstract: This paper presents an optically acquisition system that can be used to capture and store the images taken both from the external surrounding space and from the interior of a vehicle using only a single video camera. The basic utilization of this system is intended to be in the accident reconstruction field. The paper describes a video image processing method used to detect the driver´s face contour and eyes area in order to offer a non invasive, surveillance method for the driver to recognize the fallen asleep status. Hence, the system also gains a safety and traffic security behavior.
