Abstract

Abstract: The paper deals with the dependencies between the main parameters of the atmosphere (pressure, temperature, kinematic and dynamic viscosity) and the aerodynamic performances of the cars. The emphasizing of the atmospheric factors which having importance on the aero - thermodynamic behavior of vehicles can have as result specific solutions for improving of the performances of the cars, even in a very early design stage. The stagnation pressure, which determine of the vehicle aerodynamics (forces and powers) is expressed in three cases: constant density, constant temperature (isotherm) and constant entropy (adiabatic). The study is illustrated by means of a numerical exemplification.
