Abstract
Fifteen years ago the automotive and supplier industry of Serbia was fully integrated in the automotive sector of the former Yugoslavia, which used to be one of the most powerful in the region. Since then, there is a situation resulting from continuity breakdown. Yet, it does not show any substantial signs of recovery. The typical misconception dilemma of Hamletian type to be or no to be still remains unanswered. The paper aims to focus directions that might be foreseen for this vital sector of industry and economy in Serbia.
