Abstract
Providing quantitative feedback about stamping feasibility during the early phases of the product design is difficult when part geometry is under defined. However, it is important that manufacturing issues such as formability, and elastic recovery are considered as early as possible. The method discussed here uses a combination of analytical models and basic rules to generate a design window which provides a rapid and quantitative visual reference for Stamping Engineers, CAD designers and Product Engineers.
