Abstract - Natural gas has been considered as one of the most promising alternative fuels for transportation due to its ability to reduce regulated pollutants and its abundance. However, since its combustion and emission characteristics are quite different from conventional liquid fuels such as gasoline and diesel, further investigation is required. The objective of this work was to investigate the characteristics of cold start engine-out and tail-out emissions of compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicle equipped with fully electronically controlled unit and after treatment system. As a result of FTP-75 emission test, it was possible to meet ULEV and challenging SULEV emission regulation.
