Abstract
With the aerodynamic development of the new 7 series from BMW it was made certain that the aerodynamic factors, in particular the drag coefficient, were continued to reduce opposite the predecessor vehicle. by a complemented smoothed vehicle under floor and further detail optimizations in the area vehicle external form and the engine compartment flow a cx-value of 0.288 could be achieved. Likewise opposite the predecessor vehicle the dirt reservation of the wing mirrors and the side window were improved. In the area aero acoustics could be again lowered the interior noise level. The laggings important for the heat protection were carried out in in or more-shelled form. They represent an optimum compromise between costs, weight and environmental safety.
