Abstract
In order to improve the torque capacity of a half-toroidal CVT, it is important to equalize the torque transmitted by each power roller. That requires a transmission structure that avoids as much as possible the generation of unequal forces when a disturbance is applied. This paper presents an analysis of the behavior of the linkages that connect the trunnions and makes clear the mechanism of the linkages that gives rise to disturbances. A structure for reducing the disturbances produced by the linkages is proposed and is shown to be effective for that purpose.
