Abstract
Pedestrian head form impactors are test devices simulating the human head, used for evaluating pedestrian protection afforded by a passenger car front during a pedestrian to car collision. A 3.5kg head form impactor was developed representing the head of a range of humans between a 6 years old child and a small female. The technical specifications of the 3.5kg head from impactor and the evaluation of the prototype response under the two test conditions are presented in this paper. Also presented is the development of a mathematical model of this tool and its validation.
