Abstract

research on tire modeling for enveloping characteristics by using tire experimental modal parameters is performed. Unlike the modeling on flat surface, the rotation angle displacement of contact element is considered. The influences of the obstacles on the tire static vertical properties are studied. The tire experimental modal parameters are obtained by radial and tangential excitation experimental modal analysis. An iterative algorithm is adopted for the model computation. The computation analysis is performed using rectangle obstacle with fixed axle height for two working conditions: the first one is the obstacle with a constant height but different initial tire deflection; the second one is the initial tire deflection is constant but the height of the obstacle is changed. The influences of tire pressure on enveloping properties are also investigated.
