Abstract
In this paper a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) BJ6100-HEV is introduced, which is a Range Extender (RE) HEV. The thermostat control strategy and several operation modes of the HEV are analyzed, on the basis of which the sizing of components are discussed. Two key techniques are introduced. One is the control method for Auxiliary Power Unit (APU); the other is the determination of relation between voltage and State of Charge (SOC) of battery. Experiments show that the RE HEV could satisfy the design objective: extension of the range, and reduction of fuel consumption and emission.
